Post 13: Hurt Locker

This is a hard on to decided between, but my favorite movie I would say would have to be The Hurt Locker. I love it because it shows the truth behind what happens in the military and what war and conflict can do to the person in it. Its setting is second year of the war in Iraq. This is important to the movie because it is what happens in the battles and how its affects people both on and off the battle field. Without this setting for the movie not much would make sense to the average American as to why these service members are over run by depression, anxiety, and PTSD. Getting to see what happened to them and where it happened gives you a better outlook on the situation and what caused them to have the mental issues later.

  1. I haven't seen this specific movie, but I have seen a good amount of war movies- I think it's great for people to watch them to have even a tiny bit better of an understanding of what soldiers face physically and mentally. Good post!

  2. I like this post because not many people really understand how disabling PTSD can be.

  3. As I am finding a common occurrence here, I haven't seen this yet. However, I have watched a lot of the results of things such as shell shock and the resulting PTSD from the events of war. Its rather depressing to watch, sometimes scary. And its a shame the way sometime soldiers are treated, for either side of any war.
