Post 3: The life of Joseph
Joseph was a young man, much like the normal person. Going through ever day never knowing what to do in life. He wanted to be something bigger and become someone worthy of life. He went to the military for these answers. He spent many years bettering himself, becoming a more productive human, and honing the skills he thought would be necessary for his life. He made his new life here, willing to fight and wanting to grow.
This was taken to a short life when an accident happened, causing him to have to leave all that he knew and loved. Over the coming years his life became harder and harder. He began to fall down the darkest hole. His life went from being full of meaning and peaceful to being useless and disheartening. This is where he hit the bottom.
Through all turmoil and grief that followed the accident, he fought with many demons and blamed himself for his life to be what felt like at its ends. He could never get the courage to let go of the last strain of hope that he had, no matter how bad life had become. Hitting rock bottom caused him to fight and claw his way back up through all of the challenges night and day.
This was done through hard work and drive. He started on his physical health nothing could be accomplished if he could not get up and do the work anymore. This was restored through blood, sweat and tears. Then came the need to repair the mental health, this was accomplished through learning, no keeping an idle mind and rebuilding the relationships that would carry him to the end.
This was eventually done and now he is on the last block to revival, with a new career a new life and a new mind. It was a hard road but its some place that he will never again have to journey too no matter how hard the roads ahead are. It is time for his true story to begin, stronger than ever.
I chose to do this in a traditional style, I did this because to me it makes the most sense and is the easiest way to tell my story. It was a long road with many cause and effects that lined up perfectly with the traditional plot. There is a quote I want to share as well that helped me get back up after the beating life gave me. All of these events have brought the importance of mental and physical health to their true meaning for me. It might just be something someone in this class needs to see too "Whenever you get kicked and your down on the ground cause life kicked you in the stomach and kicked you while you were down it will kick you even harder and harder and make you feel like you cant stand back up. Me being the person I am I have been knocked down, I have been kicked when I was down, I have tried standing back up and got kicked again back down to the ground, and at some point you just gotta get sick and tired of getting kicked." I truly enjoyed reading your story. The military is great at building character and and making people stronger, whether it is physical or mental. The accident you endured seemed like it left a tremendous amount of pain in your life. I also like the traditional style because it easier to understand the story line. Your story will inspire everyone who reads or hear about it! The blessing is that you did not let the accident keep you down forever. Just like the rose that grew from concrete, you have tenacity. Your new career, new life, and new mind will blossom even better than before.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the words of encouragement. That was a very rough time and it is a blessing to finally come out on top. I am glad that you enjoyed the brief story about my life.
DeleteI enjoyed reading your story. I feel like you have a lot to tell, so maybe you should write a book. This was a very encouraging post, because it shows that life sucks, yet we can fight through it and come out the other end stronger.
ReplyDeleteThank you Nicole. It is something I have thought about before, either that or doing motivational speaking to help others that were once where I was. It is a battle that is still fought to this day, but I have found ways to never let it get that bad again.
DeleteYour post is very heart touching. I'm glad that he never lost hope and that he kept his faith to keep moving. This gives me hope to never give up no matter what. Thanks for this message.

ReplyDeleteI am glad that you were able to connect with what I have been through in life. That is how we get through is knowing that there are others out there fighting the same battles.
DeleteYes I absolutely agree with working on yourself physically before mentally, like I'm literally doing that right now.
